SEBASTIAN GRIMM

Sebastian Grimm is a partner of Pantor Capital Solutions with over 20 years of experience. Prior to founding Pantor, he was the Global Head of Tax and Co Global Head of Insurance Solutions at HPS Investment Partners, LLC (“HPS”). While at HPS, Mr. Grimm build out the tax and insurance solutions team as well as the Luxembourg platform for HPS and funds managed by HPS.

Sebastian Grimm was instrumental in structuring, launching, and operating over $150bn of funds for US and offshore investors with emphasis on senior debt, mezzanine, asset backed securities, real estate, infrastructure, and CLOs.  During his tenure at HPS, Mr. Grimm worked with the largest global insurance companies, pension funds and sovereigns setting up bespoke solutions for them. Before joining HPS, Sebastian Grimm specialized in tax issues related to fund structuring and private investments at Big 4 accounting firms and law firms.  Mr. Grimm earned his law degree at the University of Constance, Germany and his LL.M. Degrees from the Columbia Law School and NYU Law School (Tax).

ANTONIO AFONSO

Antonio Afonso is a Partner at Pantor Capital Solutions. Since 2018, he has worked with general partners (GPs) and insurance companies on various aspects related to investing into private assets and business development. His activities encompass product development, marketing strategies, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory, and operational optimization.

Prior to Pantor, Mr. Afonso established Allianz's private credit platforms, overseeing more than €8 billion in below-investment-grade investments and spearheading the development of its infrastructure debt platform. He previously spent five years at PIMCO, where he consolidated European investment platforms. Earlier in his career, he specialized in M&A and post-merger integration at Allianz Asset Management. Mr. Afonso's notable clients include HPS Investment Partners, Generali, Bain Capital Credit, and EIG Partners. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a CFA charterholder.
